| Materazzi - hero or zero? |
|
Guys, what do you make of Materazzi? (I'm talking about the World Cup Final, in case you've been asleep for the past month).
Hero or zero? He gives away a penalty (scored by his very good friend Zidane), scores a cracking equaliser. Says something unpleasant to Zidane, who gets himself sent off. Then he scores in the penalty shoot-out.
So what do Italian fans make of him? I think his insults to Zidane were probably calculated to get a reaction. Doesn't do much for the "beautiful game" if you ask me. |

| Well, FIFA didn't seem too impressed. They gave him a two-match ban, and Zidane a three-match ban (although he's retired now anyway). Seems fair enough to me - Materazzi wasn't without sin, and Zidane has paid a high price already. |

| Yeah, poor Materazzi, he'll miss a match against France (I think), and have to sit home polishing his World Cup medal. |
